Start your culinary adventures at the Loews Atlanta Hotel in Midtown Atlanta, the home base for the annual Atlanta Food & Wine Festival. Held late May through early June, this fete unites some of the South’s best chefs, sommeliers and beverage innovators, who travel from as far as Texas and Washington, D.C. to participate. Though it began in 2010, this Festival has quickly grown into one of America’s premiere food and wine events, offering close to 200 tastings, seminars and demonstrations. Known as the only annual festival to showcase the culinary traditions of the South, the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival offers over 100 classes on everything from the wines of Chile to new Southern flavor secrets. Tastings abound, ranging from the South’s finest fried chicken to Ole Smoky's apple pie moonshine. You can buy a day pass, a three-day pass or tickets for individual events. Festival founders Elizabeth Feichter and Dominique Love recommend that you eat minimally during the days prior and save your appetite for the savory Southern flavors that await you.
